Our research indicates that your vehicle has an electric power steering system ("EPS" or "EPAS"). These systems use an electric motor instead of a hydraulic system and therefore do not have any power steering fluid to check. Electric power steering typically require less maintenance and are more fuel efficient.

The video above shows you the steps needed to check the power steering fluid level in your 2007 Ford Escape. Checking the power steering fluid level in your Escape is relatively easy and should be done once a month or if you are experienced difficulty turning the wheel or steering your Escape. Your Escape should be parked on a level surface and your 2.3 liter engine should be cold to the touch.
If the power steering fluid level in your Escape is low, fill it up to the maximum line with power steering fluid and check it again in a week to determine if you have a leak.
