Renault

Renault is a French vehicle manufacturer established in 1899 and was the largest French car manufacturer through most of the 1900s. Renault has long partnered with other car companies including Volvo, AMC, Peugeot and Diamler. Renault currently has an innovative alliance with the Japanese car manufacturer Nissan and both companies have the same Chairman and CEO.

Modern Renaults are popularized by distinctive and disruptive designs. The Renault Megane featured an angular upright design and was a sales leader. Renualt Twingos from the 1990s are still strong lookers despite their age. Renault’s more upmarkets such as the Vel Satis and Avantime did not sell well.

Highlights of the Renault-Nissan partnership include Renault providing diesel engines to Nissan, which allowed Nissan to quickly become a major player in many European markets and Nissan providing zero-emissions technology to Renault. Popular Renaults include the Megane, Twingo, Clio and Laguna. Renault also sells cars Dacia brand, with the Dacia Logan, Sandero and Duster selling particularly well.
