Smart is brand owned by Mercedes-Benz parent, Diamler AG. The Company currently produces the Smart Fortwo which is a small and stylish city car.

Smart cars feature innovative packaging and that provides space for two occupants but was only eight feet long and allowed the car to park perpendicularly in a parallel spot. The Smart was able to accomplish these dimensions by placing the small three cylinder engine in the rear of the vehicle, underneath the cargo bed.

The Smart Fortwo lineup has proliferated to include a convertible (roadster) version as well as an EV (all electric) version. While not exactly a Tesla, the EV features a claimed range of 76 miles.
