The 1997 Honda Accord LX is a moderately easy car to maintain. Checking the oil level is easy to do on this car, as the oil dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. The power steering fluid level is easy to check on this car. The reservoir is located in a visible spot in the engine bay. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency.

Some things are difficult on the 1997 Honda Accord. To access one of the headlights, you will have to remove the air filter intake vent. While not too difficult, the vent can be tough to pull out, making a headlight change tough. Checking the engine coolant fluid level is difficult, as the fluid reservoir is not very visible in the engine bay. You will have to remove a few bolts in order to access the engine air filter. You may not have the tools necessary for this repair.
