Consumer Review Video - 2000 Honda CR-V EX 2.0L 4 Cyl.

Common problems and easy repairs on a 2000 CR-V

The 2000 Honda CR-V EX is a relatively easy SUV to maintain, and a good choice for the experienced SUV owner. Access for the headlight bulb is no problem, as you only have to reach behind the housing for access to the bulb. This bulb access is much more reliable than other SUVs. Checking the transmission fluid level is not a problem, as the dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. Other models do not include this dipstick. To access the engine air filter, you only have to disengage a few fasteners to remove the cover. These fasteners are easy to disengage.

Some things are more problematic to repair on the 2000 Honda CR-V EX. The cabin air filter is extremely complicated to replace. You will have to remove many components and bolts in order to access the filter, which will require tools you may not have readily available for a repair. Checking the engine coolant fluid level is a problem, as the fluid reservoir is not located in an overly visible spot in the engine bay. Changing the parking light is difficult to do, as you will have to reach through the wheel well lining for access to the bulb. This access is not overly reliable, as the lining can grow rigid and tight to the vehicle over time.
