The 2002 Renault Vel Satis 2.0T is a relatively difficult vehicle to maintain, and is only recommended to those capable of complex vehicle maintenance. Accessing the headlight is extremely complicated. You will need to use many tools in order to complete many steps, such as peeling back the wheel well lining which can be a problem, as it can grow tight to the vehicle over time. You will have to remove a large panel from under the vehicle for reliable access to the oil drain plug. Accessing the engine air filter will require the removal of more covers than usual, and removing these will require many tools to complete.

Some things are easier on the 2002 Renault Vel Satis 2.0T. Both the front and rear wiper blades are easy to change on this vehicle. Other models will require the use of tools when changing your blades. Some of the tail lights are easily accessible behind an easy to remove access panel in the trunk. The battery isn’t too difficult to remove, as the battery bracket that secures the battery is itself easy to remove.
