The 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 is a relatively easy vehicle to maintain, and a good choice for any vehicle owner. Changing the engine air filter with reliability is no problem, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage. Checking the transmission fluid level is easy to do, as the dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. Not every model includes this dipstick. The engine coolant reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay, as well.

Some things are problematic on the 2003 Dodge Ram 2500. You will have to completely remove the headlight housing for access to the bulb. This is more complicated than usual. To access the spare tire, you will have to lower it from under the vehicle first. The lowering mechanism can grow rusted to the vehicle and be difficult to turn. Changing the center brake light will require the use of a few tools in order to completely remove the housing for access.
