The 2004 Dodge Durango SLT is a relatively easy vehicle to maintain, and shouldn’t be too hard for those experienced in vehicle maintenance. Checking the transmission fluid level with reliability is no problem, as the dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. Not every model includes this dipstick. Both the front and rear wiper blades are easy to replace on this vehicle. Other models will require the use of tools for changing your blades. The engine air filter is easy to change on this vehicle. You only have to disengage a few fasteners.

Some things are problematic to repair on the 2004 Dodge Durango SLT. You will have to lower the spare tire from under the vehicle for access to it. The lowering mechanism can grow rusted to the vehicle. Changing the center brake light can be tough, as you will need to remove screws to remove the housing first. These screws can be tough to remove. You will also need a tool to remove the tail light housing for access to the bulbs.
