Consumer Review Video - 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX 2.0L 4 Cyl. Turbo Sedan

Common problems and easy repairs on a 2005 Impreza

The 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX is a relatively easy vehicle to maintain, and a good choice for the average vehicle owner. Changing the engine air filter with reliability is no problem, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency. The tail light bulbs are easily accessible behind an easy to remove lining in the rear of the vehicle. Other models make this access more difficult.

Some things are more problematic on the 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX. You will have to completely remove the glove box housing for access to the cabin air filter. This will require many tools to complete. The brake fluid reservoir is not overly visible on this vehicle. This will make it hard to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis. Similar to this reservoir, the level markers on the engine coolant reservoir are tough to see on this vehicle.
