Common problems and easy repairs on a 2006 Accord

The 2006 Honda Accord EX is a moderately difficult car to maintain, due to having to use many tools to complete these repairs. To reliably access the engine air filter, you will have to completely remove the battery first. This is an extremely problematic step that you won’t have to complete on other models. Similar to the air filter, you will have to completely remove the battery to access the headlight on one side of the vehicle. The cabin air filter is tough to replace, as you will have to lower the glove box in order to access. This would have been much easier if there were a panel in the rear of the vehicle for access.

Some things are easier to maintain on the 2006 Honda Accord EX. Checking the transmission fluid level is easy to do, as the fluid dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. Not every vehicle includes this dipstick. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency. The brake fluid level is easy to check and replenish on this vehicle. The reservoir is very visible in the engine bay, allowing you to keep an eye on it on a regular basis.
