Common problems and easy repairs on a 2006 B9 Tribeca

The 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca is a difficult car to maintain. On the passenger side the air filter intake needs to be pried out to access the headlights, while on the driver side the battery needs to be removed—neither of which allows for reliable bulb changes. Accessing the cabin air filter may be a problem as multiple panels and fasteners (as well as the glove box) need to be removed in order to reach the filter itself. The position of the spare tire underneath the vehicle is not ideal, as it could end up rusting to the frame.

However, the 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca has its upsides. The power steering fluid reservoir has very open access and can be monitored with reliability. Both fuse boxes are easy to access, so electrical troubleshooting shouldn’t be a problem. The engine air filter can be changed without tools, making for hassle-free maintenance.
