Despite a very difficult access to the battery, the 2008 Dodge Avenger is a relatively easy car to maintain. Accessing the headlight with reliability is no problem, as you only have to reach behind the housing for access to the bulb. Changing the engine air filter is easy to do, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners in order to access the filter. Draining the oil is easier to do on this vehicle, as the oil drain plug is easily accessible beneath the car.

As stated before, the battery on the 2008 Dodge Avenger is extremely difficult to access. You will have to remove the driver side tire, and then reach through the wheel well lining, in order to access the battery. Other things are difficult on the 2008 Dodge Avenger SXT. You will have to lower the glove box in order to access the cabin air filter. To access the tail light, you will need to use many tools in order to remove the taillight housing.
