Consumer Review Video - 2009 Mazda CX-9 Touring 3.7L V6

Common problems and easy repairs on a 2009 CX-9

The 2009 Mazda CX-9 Touring is a moderately difficult vehicle to maintain. You must lower the tire from under the vehicle for access to it, which can be difficult as the lowering mechanism can grow rusted to the vehicle over time. Changing the front wiper blade will require the use of a tool. You will have to completely remove the tail light housing for access to the bulbs, and the tools necessary may not be readily available.

Some things are easier on the 2009 Mazda CX-9 Touring. Changing the headlight with reliability is no problem, as you only have to reach behind the housing for access to the bulb assembly. The engine air filter is easy to access and change, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access. Checking the transmission fluid level is easy to do, as the dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay.
