The 2011 Ram 1500 SLT is a relatively difficult vehicle to maintain when compared to other similar models. The headlight is extremely complicated to access. You will need to use many tools to complete many steps for access to the bulb assembly. You will also need to remove torx bolts for access to the tail light bulbs. These tools may not be readily available for a repair. To change the tire, you will have to lower the spare from under the vehicle first. The lowering mechanism can grow rusted to the vehicle over time and be difficult to turn.

Some things are easier on the 2011 Ram 1500 SLT. Checking the transmission fluid level is no problem, as the dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. Not every model includes this dipstick. Changing the engine air filter is also easy to do, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage. The brake fluid reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay. This will allow you to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis.
