Common problems and easy repairs on a 2011 Legacy
The 2011 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Premium is a relatively difficult vehicle to maintain, and is only recommended to those capable of vehicle maintenance. You will have to remove a large panel from under the vehicle for access to the petcock. This will require you to contend with gravity. Changing the headlight with reliability is a problem, as you will have to reach through the wheel well lining for access. This lining can grow tight to the vehicle. You will need to use a tool in order to change the front wiper blade. Other models do not require the use of tools.
Some things are easier on the 2011 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Premium. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency. The brake fluid reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay. This will make it hard to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis. Changing the battery is easier to do than usual, as the bracket that secures the battery is itself easy to remove.
