Consumer Review Video - 2012 Honda CR-V EX-L 2.4L 4 Cyl.

Common problems and easy repairs on a 2012 CR-V

The 2012 Honda CR-V EX-L is a relatively easy vehicle to maintain, and a good choice for someone experienced in vehicle maintenance. Checking the transmission fluid level reliably is easy to do, as the fluid dipstick is easily accessible in engine bay. Not every model includes this dipstick. Both the front and rear wiper blades are easy to change on this vehicle. Other models will require the use of tools to complete, so It’s a nice touch to be able to change these blades with just your hands. The headlight is not a problem to change, as you only have to reach behind the housing for access to the bulb.

Some things are harder to repair on the 2012 Honda CR-V EX-L. Checking the engine coolant fluid level can be a problem, as the level markers are not overly visible in the engine bay. To change the tail lights with reliability, you will have to completely remove one of the tail light housings first. This will require some tools, and this repair would have been much easier if there were a designated panel in the rear of the vehicle for access. Similarly, the cabin air filter would have been easier to replace if there were access panels in the rear of the glove box. Instead, you will have to lower the glove box for reliable access.
