Consumer Review Video - 2012 Mini Cooper S 1.6L 4 Cyl. Turbo Hatchback

Car Displayed: 2012 Mini Cooper S 1.6L 4 Cyl. Turbo Hatchback

The 2012 Mini Cooper is a moderately easy car to maintain, despite a few problematic aspects. To access the headlight, you only need to reach behind the housing. This bulb is also found on the top of the housing, making access very easy to do. Changing the front wiper blades is easy to do on this car, as you do not need any tools to remove the wiper blade. The cabin air filter is easily accessible beneath the glove box. While you do need some tools, the access is relatively easy to complete.

Some things are difficult on the 2012 Mini Cooper. One of the tail lights is difficult to access. You will have to reach through the rear wheel well lining in order to access the bulb with reliability. You will have to loosen torx bolts in order to access the engine air filter. To remove these bolts, you will need tools you may not have readily available for a repair. The brake fluid reservoir is located beneath a cover, and is in a tight spot in the engine bay. This makes a fluid level check difficult to do.
