Common problems and easy repairs on a 2016 Civic

The 2016 Honda Civic LX is a moderately easy car to maintain, and a good choice for someone experienced in vehicle maintenance. Changing the engine air filter is no problem at all, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage. The headlight is easy to change, as you only have to reach behind the housing for access to the assembly. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency.

Some repairs on the 2016 Honda Civic LX are more problematic. To access the lower radiator hose reliably for a coolant drain, you will need to remove a large panel from under the vehicle first. This is a problem, as you will have to contend with gravity as you complete. You will have to completely replace the taillight housing in order to replace the tail light. This will require a few tools you may not have readily available for a repair. You will have to lower the glove box in order to access the cabin air filter. This would have been much easier if there were a designated panel in the rear of the glove box for access to the filter.
