Common problems and easy repairs on a 2019 Ascent

The 2019 Subaru Ascent Premium is a relatively easy car to maintain. The non-LED headlights are accessible by simply reaching behind the bulb housing, allowing for reliable changes. Jumpstarting or replacing the battery won’t be a problem thanks to the unobstructed access to both the terminals and the bracket. The engine air filter housing disengages without the use of tools, allowing you to easily slide the filter out to replace it.

However, the 2019 Subaru Ascent Premium has a handful of complicated procedures. The entire bulb housing must be removed for access to the tail lights, which will require tools and won’t make for reliable changes. You’ll need to work upside-down while using multiple tools to remove a large panel before you can access the petcock. The spare tire must be lowered from underneath the vehicle, which could be a problem if it becomes rusted to the undercarriage.
