Genesis Motors is the luxury vehicle division of Hyundai Motors. Genesis initially began as two Hyundai model names, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe and the Hyundai Genesis, which was a sedan. During the second generation of the Hyundai Genesis sedan, the Company decided to begin making models under the Genesis standalone brand. Thus the 2015 Hyundai Genesis became the Genesis G80 in 2016.

With a history of poaching top design talent from German carmakers, such as Audi’s Luc Donckerwolke and BMW’s Albert Biermann, Genesis has succeeded in emulating sophisticated German design and combining it with Korean manufacturing prowess.

While Genesis launched with a trio of sedans, from smallest to largest, the G70, G80 and G90, the sedans have been supplanted by the GV70 and GV80 SUVs, which are top sellers for the Company.
