The 1984 Ford F-250 is a relatively easy vehicle to maintain, and a good choice for the average vehicle owner. The engine air filter is easy to change with reliability, as you only have to remove one fastener and one cover for access. Checking the oil level is no problem, as the oil dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. The engine coolant reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay. This will make it easy to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis.

Some things are more problematic on the 1984 Ford F-250. Changing the headlights can be difficult, as you will need to use a few tools in order to access the bulbs. You will need to use many tools for access to the tail light bulbs. The tools necessary may not be readily available for a repair. To access the spare tire, you will have to lower it from under the vehicle first. The lowering mechanism can grow rusted to the vehicle and be difficult to turn.
