The 1994 Toyota 4Runner SR5 is a moderately difficult vehicle to maintain, but shouldn’t be too hard for those experienced in vehicle maintenance. You will have to remove the housing for access to the reverse light. The tools necessary may not be readily available for a repair. To access the spare tire with reliability, you will have to lower it from under the vehicle. The lowering mechanism can grow rusted to the vehicle and be difficult to turn. The center brake light is more difficult to replace than on other models as you will need a few tools to replace.

Some things are easier on the 1994 Toyota 4Runner SR5. Changing the engine air filter is no problem, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage. The brake fluid reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay. This will allow you to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis. Checking the transmission fluid level is no problem, as the dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay.
