Car Displayed: 1996 Ford Windstar GL 3.8L V6

The 1996 Ford Windstar GL is a very easy car to maintain when compared to other similar models. To replace the headlight with reliability, you only have to reach behind the bulb housing for access. Both the front and rear wiper blades are no problem to replace on this vehicle. Other models will require the use of tools, so it’s a nice touch to be able to change this with just your hands. Checking the transmission fluid level is easy, as the dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. Other models do not include this dipstick.

Some things are tougher to repair on the 1996 Ford Windstar GL. Checking the brake fluid level can be difficult, as the maximum and minimum level markers are not overly visible on this vehicle. You will have to remove a few screws in order to access the center brake light. These screws can grow rusted to the vehicle over time. In order to access the spare tire, you will have to lower it from beneath the vehicle first. This can be tough, as the lowering mechanism can grow rusted to the vehicle over time.
