Consumer Review Video - 1997 Ford Ka Silver 1.3L 4 Cyl.

Common problems and easy repairs on a 1997 Ka

The 1997 Ford Ka Silver is relatively easy to maintain. The tail lights are all located in a single bulb housing that removes without the of tools, allowing for very reliable bulb changes. Monitoring the brake fluid won’t be a problem given the unobstructed access to the reservoir. The front and rear wiper blades will be easy to change as no tools will be needed to remove them from their respective wiper arms.

However, the 1997 Ford Ka Silver has some challenging downsides. In order to access the headlights you must pry back the front bumper and disconnect the bulb housing, all of which will be a complicated procedure. Changing the battery may be a problem as the bracket is in a cramped position that may be difficult to reach. The spare tire is stored underneath the vehicle, which could lead to it rusting to the undercarriage and becoming inaccessible.
