Consumer Review Video - 1998 Chrysler Cirrus LXi 2.5L V6

Common problems and easy repairs on a 1998 Cirrus

The 1998 Chrysler Cirrus LXi is an easy car to maintain. The tail light housing can be easily removed, allowing for reliable bulb changes. Checking the transmission fluid level isn’t a problem, as the dipstick is quick to find, easy to remove, and simple to read. The engine air filter also has reliable access, as no tools are needed to disconnect its housing, which lifts up easily to allow quick access to the filter itself.

However, the 1998 Chrysler Cirrus LXi has its downsides. Reaching the battery will prove to be a big problem, as the entire wheel on the front driver’s side will need to be removed for access. The headlights don’t allow for reliable changes, as their bulb housings need to be removed, which require the use of multiple tools. The lower radiator hose needs to be disconnected to drain the coolant, which would’ve been easier had a petcock been attached.
