Consumer Review Video - 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34 3.8L V6

Common problems and easy repairs on a 1999 Monte Carlo

The 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34 is an easy car to maintain. All of the headlights in the main housing are accessible via a simple reach behind, making for reliable bulb changes. The transmission fluid dipstick is easy to remove and read, allowing you to monitor the fluid level without hassle. The spare tire and jack kit are conveniently packaged together in the trunk and can be quickly removed, so servicing a flat tire shouldn’t be a problem.

However, the 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34 has its downsides. Accessing the battery bracket will prove very problematic, as the windshield washer fluid, air filter, and fuse box need to be removed before you can reach it. The main tail light housing needs to be removed to access the bulb, which can be a tedious process. The air filter housing is located deep in the engine bay which won’t allow for reliable filter changes.
