Car Displayed: 2001 BMW X5 3.0i 3.0L 6 Cyl.

The 2001 BMW X5 3.0i is a moderately difficult vehicle to maintain, but shouldn’t be too hard for those experienced in vehicle maintenance. You will have to remove a few bolts, then peel back the wheel well lining, for access to the fog light. This lining can grow tight to the vehicle. Accessing the battery is more difficult than usual, as you will have to remove the spare tire and a few bolts. You will have to remove a panel for access to the brake fluid reservoir. This will make it hard to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis.

Some things are easier on the 2001 BMW X5 3.0i. Changing the engine air filter with reliability is no problem, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage. The headlight bulb is easy to access, as you only have to reach behind the housing first. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency.
