The 2002 Ford F-250 Super Duty Lariat is a moderately easy vehicle to maintain, but might be tough for those inexperienced in vehicle maintenance. Checking the transmission fluid level with reliability is no problem, as the dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. Not every model includes this dipstick. Changing the engine air filter is easy to do, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage. The engine coolant reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay. This will allow you to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis.

Some things are problematic on the 2002 Ford F-250 Super Duty Lariat. You will need a few tools to remove the center brake light housing for access to the bulbs. The tools necessary may not be readily available for a repair. Changing the parking light will also require you to completely remove the housing. The power steering reservoir is located deep in the engine bay, and removing the reservoir cap will require a tough reach.
