Consumer Review Video - 2002 Nissan Maxima GLE 3.5L V6

Common problems and easy repairs on a 2002 Maxima

The 2002 Nissan Maxima GLE has some challenging procedures. You must pry out the main bulb housing for access to many of the headlights, which will require tools and won’t allow for reliable bulb changes. Changing the tail lights might also prove problematic on account of the large portions of trunk lining that will have to be disengaged and pried back. The oil filter is difficult to reach for an oil change as you will have to crawl underneath the vehicle and pry back a panel to do so.

However, the 2002 Nissan Maxima GLE has many upsides. The open access to the engine coolant reservoir will allow you to reliably monitor the fluid level. Fixing a flat tire shouldn’t be a problem as the spare tire and jack kit can be accessed and set up with ease. The engine air filter can be changed without the use of tools.
