Common problems and easy repairs on a 2003 Escalade

The 2003 Cadillac Escalade is a moderately difficult vehicle to maintain, but shouldn’t be too hard for someone experienced in vehicle maintenance. This vehicle uses the secondary latch system for lowering your tire. This system is extremely difficult to work with, making a quick tire change a problem. You will have to loosen screws in order to reliably access the engine air filter. This is tougher than on other models, as the screws can grow rusted to the housing over time. The headlight bulbs are tough to change. You will need to remove a panel, and complete other difficult steps, in order to access the bulbs.

Some things are easier on the 2003 Cadillac Escalade. Checking the transmission fluid level is no problem, as the fluid dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. Both the front and rear wiper blades are easy to change on this vehicle. Other models will require the use of tools to complete. The engine coolant reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay. This will allow you to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis.
