Common problems and easy repairs on a 2004 Impala

The 2004 Chevrolet Impala SS is a relatively difficult car to maintain, but shouldn’t be too hard for the experienced car owner. Accessing the cabin air filter can be a problem, as you will need to use a few tools you may not have readily available to access the filter. You will have to completely remove the fog light housing in order to change the fog light. This will require a few tools, and is more difficult than usual. Removing the battery is tough, as you will have to remove a sway bar, and work in a tighter area than usual.

Some things are easier to repair on the 2004 Chevrolet Impala SS. Checking the transmission fluid level with reliability is easy to do, as the fluid dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. Not every model includes this dipstick. The engine coolant fluid reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay. This will allow you to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis. Both the engine and interior fuse boxes are easy to access on this vehicle. You only have to remove one cover to access either set of fuses, and these covers are easy to remove.
