Common problems and easy repairs on a 2005 Eclipse
The 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS is a moderately difficult vehicle to maintain, but shouldn’t be too hard for those experienced in vehicle maintenance. You will have to completely remove the tail light housing for access to the tail light bulbs. This will require many tools to complete. Changing the cabin air filter with reliability is a problem, as you will have to completely remove the glove box for access. Other models make this repair easier. You will have to completely remove the bulb housing for access to the front turn signal.
Some things are easier on the 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS. Checking the transmission fluid level is easy to do, as the dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. Not every model includes this dipstick. The engine coolant reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay. This will allow you to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis. Changing the headlight is easy to do, as you only have to reach behind the housing for access to the assembly.
