Consumer Review Video - 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer ES 2.0L 4 Cyl.

Car Displayed: 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer ES 2.0L 4 Cyl.

The 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer ES is a relatively easy vehicle to maintain, and a good choice for the average vehicle owner. Changing the engine air filter with reliability is no problem, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage. The headlight is easy to change, as you only have to reach behind the housing for access to the assembly. Checking the transmission fluid level is easy to do, as the dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay.

Some things are more problematic on the 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer ES. You will need to lower the glove box for access to the cabin air filter. This would have been easier if there were an access panel in the rear of the glove box instead. To change the tail light bulbs you will have to remove the entire housing. This will require a few tools you may not have readily available for a repair. The engine coolant reservoir is not overly visible in the engine bay. This will make it hard to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis.
