The 2006 Ford F-150 XLT is a relatively easy vehicle to maintain, and a good choice for even the average vehicle owner. Changing the engine air filter with reliability is no problem, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage. The engine coolant reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay. This will allow you to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis. Checking the oil level is easy to do, as the dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay.

Some things are problematic on the 2006 Ford F-150 XLT. You will need to use many tools in order to remove the headlight housing. These tools may not be readily available for a repair.
