The 2006 Mercedes-Benz E500 is a relatively difficult car to maintain, and is only recommended to someone capable of vehicle maintenance. To access the drain plug for an oil change, you will have to remove a large panel from under the vehicle. This will require you to contend with gravity to complete. Changing the tail lights will be extremely problematic. You will need to disengage many panels and linings, and remove many bolts, in order to reliably access the housing. You will have to remove many bolts and fasteners in order to remove the air filter housing for access to the filter.

Some things are less problematic on the 2006 Mercedes-Benz E500. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency. The engine coolant reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay. This will allow you to reliably check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis. Setting the clock is no problem, as there are easy to follow steps in the electronic menu for changing your time.
