The 2007 Chevrolet HHR LT is a relatively difficult vehicle to maintain, and is only recommended to those capable of complex vehicle maintenance. You will have to peel back the wheel well lining for access to the headlight bulb. This will require many tools, and this lining can be tough to peel back. Removing the engine air filter is tougher than usual, as you will need to remove a few bolts for access. You will have to remove the glove box in order to access the cabin air filter with reliability. This would have been less problematic if there were an access panel in the rear of the glove box instead.

Some things are easier on the 2007 Chevrolet HHR LT. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency. Checking the oil level is easy to do, as the dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. The engine fuse box is also straightforward to access.
