Consumer Review Video - 2008 Mercury Sable Premier 3.5L V6

Common problems and easy repairs on a 2008 Sable

The 2008 Mercury Sable Premier is a relatively easy vehicle to maintain, but is more recommended to those capable of vehicle maintenance. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency. Checking the transmission fluid level with reliability is no problem, as the dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. Not every model includes this dipstick. Changing the engine air filter is easy to do, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage.

Some things are problematic on the 2008 Mercury Sable Premier. You will need to use a few tools in order to peel back a panel, and remove a few bolts, for access to the tail light bulb. The tools necessary may not be readily available for a repair. To access the parking light, you will have to peel back the wheel well lining. This lining can grow tight to the vehicle. Checking the interior fuse box can be tough, as you will have to make a difficult reach under the steering wheel.
