The 2008 Saturn Vue XE is a moderately difficult vehicle to maintain and will require many tools in order to regularly maintain it. You will need to completely remove the headlight housing for access to the bulb. This will require many tools in order to complete. Similarly, you will need to use many tools to remove the tail light housing for access to the bulbs. The tools necessary may not be readily available for a repair. Changing the engine air filter with reliability can be a problem. Other models will not require tools to remove this filter.

Some things are easier on the 2008 Saturn Vue XE. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency. The engine coolant reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay. This will allow you to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis.
