Consumer Review Video - 2008 Scion xD 1.8L 4 Cyl.

Common problems and easy repairs on a 2008 xD

The 2008 Scion xD is an easy vehicle to maintain. With the exception of the actual headlight the rest of them are easily accessible by simply reaching behind the bulb housing, allowing for reliable changes when necessary. Similarly, all of the tail lights are located behind a single panel in the trunk—no bulb housing removal will be required. Checking the transmission fluid won’t be a problem, as its dipstick is quick to find, easy to remove, and simple to read.

However, the 2008 Scion xD has its downsides. Changing the headlight itself may be a problem, as many fasteners will need to be disconnected before the bulb can be pulled out. The glove box will need to be removed in order to access the cabin air filter, which won’t allow for reliable changes. The engine coolant reservoir is in a cramped location, making it difficult to monitor its levels.
