Car Displayed: 2008 Toyota Matrix XR 1.8L 4 Cyl.

The 2008 Toyota Matrix XR is a very easy car to maintain. Accessing the headlight on this car is no problem, as you only have to reach behind the housing for access to the bulb. The tail light is easy to access in the rear of the vehicle, as there is a designated panel for you to remove to access the bulb. Changing the engine air filter with reliability is easy to do, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter.

Some things are tougher to repair on the 2008 Toyota Matrix XR. In order to access the cabin air filter, you will have to lower the glove box. This involves the use of a few tools that you may not have readily available for a repair. To replace the center brake light, you will have to remove a few bolts and covers in order to access the bulb. These extra steps make this bulb replacement more difficult. Checking the engine coolant fluid level is difficult on this car, as the fluid reservoir is not easily visible in the engine bay.
