Car Displayed: 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche LT 6.0L V8

The 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche LT is a moderately easy vehicle to maintain, and a good choice for the average vehicle owner. Checking the transmission fluid level is no problem, as the dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. Not every model includes this dipstick. The engine coolant reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay. This will make it easy to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis. The battery is reliably easy to replace on this vehicle. The bracket that secures the battery is easy to remove, which can be more difficult to do on other models.

Some things are problematic to repair on the 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche LT. Changing the engine air filter is more difficult than usual, as you will need to use more tools than usual in order to remove the air filter. You will need to completely remove the tail light housing for access to the tail light bulbs. This will require a few tools to complete. The power steering reservoir is located deep in the engine bay. This will make it hard to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis.
