The 2009 Mercedes-Benz GL450 is a moderately difficult car to maintain, but shouldn’t be to hard for someone experienced in vehicle maintenance. The engine air filter is extremely complicated to access. You will need to use many tools to complete many steps, and these tools may not be readily available for a repair. You will have to remove a large panel from under the vehicle for access to the petcock for a coolant drain. This will require you to contend with gravity as you complete. To change the fog light with reliability, you will need to remove the housing first. This will require tools to complete difficult steps first.

Some things are easier on the 2009 Mercedes-Benz GL450. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency. Access for the headlight is no problem, as you only have to reach behind the housing for access to the bulb. Both the front and rear wiper blades are easy to replace on this vehicle. Other models will require the use of tools to complete.
