The 2009 Nissan Altima S is a moderately difficult car to maintain, but shouldn’t be too hard for someone experienced in vehicle maintenance. Changing the engine air filter is no problem, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners in order to access the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency. Checking the oil level reliably is easy to do, as the oil dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay.

As previously stated, there are more problematic repairs on the 2009 Nissan Altima S. Changing the headlight can be tough, as you will have to peel back the wheel well lining for access. This lining can grow tight to the vehicle over time, and be difficult to peel back. The center brake light can be a problem to replace. You will have to pry up the housing in the rear of the vehicle for reliable access, and this housing is located in a tight, difficult to work in space. You will have to completely remove the tail light housing for access to the tail lights. This is a problem, as it will require many steps to complete, and would have been easier if there were an access panel in the rear of the vehicle.
