The 2010 Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid is a very difficult vehicle to maintain, and is only recommended to those capable of vehicle maintenance. Similar to other Mercedes models, the engine air filter is extremely complicated to replace. You will need to use many tools in order to complete this repair. The tail light housing is extremely complicated to access and replace with reliability. Panels, bolts, and the housing itself will need to be removed. The cabin air filter is problematic to replace. Be sure to have many tools on hand when completing any of these repairs.

Some things are easier on the 2010 Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency. The engine coolant reservoir is easily accessible in the engine bay. This will allow you to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis. Checking the oil level is no problem, as the oil dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay.
