The 2012 Ford F-150 XLT is a relatively easy car to maintain when compared to other similar models. To access the fog light with reliability, you only have to reach underneath the vehicle for access to the bulb. The engine air filter is no problem to access on this vehicle, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filer. Checking the oil level is easy to do, as the oil dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay.

Some things are tougher to repair on the 2012 Ford F-150 XLT. You will have to lower the spare tire from beneath the vehicle in order to access. This can be tough, as the lowering mechanism can grow rusted to the vehicle over time. In order to replace the front wiper blade, you will need to use a tool to disengage it. Other models do not require the use of tools for removing the blade. To replace the headlight, you will have to completely remove the housing first. This requires the use of many tools, and a few tools, in order to replace the bulb.
