Common problems and easy repairs on a 2012 Eclipse
The 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS Sport is a moderately easy car to maintain and a good choice for the average car owner. The headlight is no problem to access on this vehicle, as you only have to reach behind the housing for access to the bulb. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go with reliability. Both the engine and interior fuse boxes are easy to access on this vehicle. You only need to remove one cover to access either set of fuses.
Some things are tougher on the 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS Sport. You will have to remove a panel, a few bolts, and a few rivets, in order to remove the tail light housing for access to the bulb. Checking the engine coolant fluid level is difficult, as the maximum and minimum level markers are located in a difficult to see spot in the engine bay. While not difficult, you will have to make a tough reach in order to access the petcock. This can make an engine coolant drain more difficult than usual.
