Common problems and easy repairs on a 2013 MKZ

The 2013 Lincoln MKZ is a relatively difficult car to maintain, but shouldn’t be too hard for someone experienced in vehicle maintenance. Accessing the petcock for a coolant drain can be difficult, as you will have to use tools as you contend with gravity to complete. You will have to completely remove the glove box for access to the cabin air filter. This will require many tools to complete many steps, and would have been less of a problem if there were designated panels in the rear of the glove box for access. This vehicle does not come equipped with a transmission fluid dipstick. You will have to take your car into a dealer to reliably check the fluid level.

Some things are easier on the 2013 Lincoln MKZ. The Bluetooth is easy to connect, as there are easy to follow steps in the electronic menu for connecting your phone. Changing the engine air filter is easy to do, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency.
