The 2013 Scion FR-S is a relatively easy vehicle to maintain, and a good choice for someone experienced in vehicle maintenance. Changing the engine air filter is no problem, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage. The headlight is easy to replace, as you only have to reach behind the housing for access to the bulb. Checking the oil level is easy to do, as the oil dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay.

Some things are more problematic to repair on the 2013 Scion FR-S. Changing the front wiper blade with reliability will require some tools. Other models do not require tools to complete. You will have to peel down a panel under the vehicle for access to the petcock. This is tougher access than on other models. To change the cabin air filter, you will have to lower the glove box first. This would have been easier if there were designated access panels in the rear of the glove box for access.
