Common problems and easy repairs on a 2008 PT Cruiser
The 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring is a moderately difficult vehicle to maintain. You will have to lower the tire from under the vehicle for access to it. The lowering mechanism can grow rusty over time. To change the tail light bulb you will need to remove a torx bolt first. The tools necessary may not be readily available for a repair. You must remove the air filter housing to remove the battery with reliability. Other models will not include this tedious step.
Some things are easier on the 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring. Changing the engine air filter is no problem, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to it. Checking the transmission fluid level is easy, as the dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. Both the front and rear wiper blades are easy to change without the use of tools.
